7 Coolest Hotels in Paris: A Stylish Design Focus For Your Parisian Stay

With these seven coolest hotels in Paris, you're practically guaranteed a stylish visit worthy of the fashion capital of the world.

Charming and enchanting, full of life and splendor, Paris remains the dream destination for American travelers for good reason.

As an interiors lover and designer, I’m obsessed with Parisian interiors. In the mix of French traditional and modern, I envisage bright airy rooms with high ceilings and plenty of light flooding in, reflecting on the polished parquet floors and marble fireplaces with floor-to-ceiling flowy curtains.

Whether it’s your first trip or your tenth, here you can find my personal favorite design-focused hotels in Paris for the most Instagrammable stay to date. From five-star luxury to chic and affordable, each hotel has something unique that will elevate your experience through art and design, whatever your budget.

An Affordable, Colorful Art and Design Hotel Away from the Hustle and Bustle of Paris

1/3

Don’t be fooled by the quiet surroundings, this tourist-friendly and upmarket location is great for shopping with lots of prestigious shops and luxury brands around. You can walk to the Champs-Elysees in under fifteen minutes.

A stylish hotel to spend a couple of nights in while discovering Paris, Hotel Haussmann Saint-Augustin offers great room amenities including a Nespresso coffee maker and Nuxe toiletries in every room. My favorite part of this hotel is the décor. You can give me a pink wall any day and I will be in my happy place, and here they don’t just stop there. They layer it with geometric monochrome carpets, beautiful materials and bespoke furniture and décor pieces to create a distinctive color experience. A practical advantage for the international traveler is that each room has integrated USB ports and an international plug.

Industrial Design Hotel in a Parisian Artisan District

1/4

The Fabric Hotel couldn’t be more interesting. A former textile factory in the middle of the artisan district of Oberkampf, most of the industrial characteristics of the building have been maintained throughout the renovations to work with the beautiful concept that is the Fabric Hotel.

Bold décor, metallic accents, brick walls, and locally sourced accessories make the design of this hotel truly unique. And with plenty of amenities, you will have to make time in your day to use the hammam and their fitness facilities, and in the evenings relax in their honesty bar. The guest areas of the hotel are also stunning, so make sure you leave some time to enjoy these too.

Cinematic Design Hotel in Paris Close to the Louvre

1/3

Fantastically located close to the Louvre, and just five minutes away from superb shopping at Les Halles, Le 123 Sebastopol couldn’t be better located for an art and design-driven weekend.

The décor of the hotel is inspired by cinema; you will see lightboxes and illuminated letters that transport you straight to the bright lights of Hollywood. The cinema-style seating at the breakfast room, in particular, is a wonderfully quirky feature. And the theme continues throughout the rooms, with each one being centered around a specific blockbuster film. My favorite amenity by far is the cinema room, which offers private viewings to top off your cinematic weekend in Paris.

The breakfast is delicious, and it is absolutely worth having it included in your room charge. The mini bar is restocked daily free of charge and they also offer afternoon pastries and cakes as a treat for the guests.

Grand Design Hotel in a Parisian Chateaux

1/4

If you have ever wondered if you could one day stay in a genuine Chateaux in Paris, only steps away from the Champs-Elysees, I’m here to tell you that you can. Enter: Hotel Saint James Paris.

As you arrive at the striking grounds and imposing building you are taken to a world far removed from the bustling Parisian city center that you just left behind. The hotel offers fine dining in abundance, with a Michelin star restaurant and an eclectic terraced café. Within the cafe, the hot air balloon theme harks to the hotel’s rich history, as hot air balloons used to be launched from these grounds during the 19th century. The beautiful gardens are private to hotel guests during the day and you can relax in the Guerlain Spa, which offers exclusive signature treatments.

The décor throughout the hotel is dramatic, elegant and traditional with whimsical modern details. Delightfully eccentric, it was designed by Franco-American Interior Designer Bambi Sloan.

Modern Geometric Design in a Centrally Located Parisian Hotel

1/3

Neighbouring Palais Royal, Louvre and Jardins des Tuileries, this centrally located hotel makes it on my top list of hotels in Europe. Everything from the location, amenities, service and food is designed and delivered to spoil you rotten!

Expect to see wood and brushed brass, black and white tiles and colour accents that will uplift and transform each room. Layered with stunning rugs and vintage furniture, potentially the best beds in the world, and dramatic curtains for elegant finishing touches.

La Colline Spa within Nolinski brings you a sanctuary with Swiss influences in the middle of sleepless Paris city center, and what a haven that is. Taking half a day out of your trip to enjoy the Spa facilities is a must. If a work out is on the list, they can even provide a personal trainer to assist.

And for those who cannot bear to leave their treasured pets behind for this luxury experience, pets are also welcome and will look receive true VIP treatment.

Contemporary Art and Design Hotel for Food-lovers

1/4

Le Cinq Codet is housed in a building dating back to the 1930s which has been updated with contemporary décor and art deco influences. Each one of the 67 rooms is designed to create an exclusive experience with the best of the Parisian elegance, and the décor of in-house Brasserie Rejane is a must-visit for lovers of good food and equally good interiors. There is no other hotel like it in Paris.

Complete with floor to ceiling windows to make the most of the views, the rooms are compact compared to the other hotels, but the privileged location close to the Eiffel Tower and The Invalides Museum more than compensates for it. There are duplex rooms with soaking tubs, and a rooftop jacuzzi, a great spot to relax with a glass of wine after a day exploring Paris.

Design Hotel in Paris with In-house Cinema

1/4

Having opened its doors for the first time in 1928 just before artists from around the world flocked to Paris, Le Royal Monceur Raffles is a new generation Palace hotel with art in its soul, with designs by interior and furniture designer royalty Philippe Starck.

For the ultimate luxury experience in Paris, just a few steps from the Champs-Elysees and with views of the Arc de Triomphe, Le Royal Monceau certainly exceeds expectations. From Michelin starred restaurant to the longest swimming pool to have ever been built in a Parisian hotel, the best breakfast in Paris, an art gallery and an in-house cinema. If you weren’t in the charming city of lights you would want to retreat to the hotel all day long.

There is also an in-house modern Japanese restaurant, Matsuhisa by Nobu himself, as well an incredible weekend brunch at La Cuisine. And to end your meals in style, all desserts are created by award-winning pastry chef Pierre Herme.
