Eat And Ski Your Way Through Park City, Utah

It is still hot in Los Angeles but I am dreaming of days on the slopes and dining in Park City, Utah.

My family loves to travel and I have always said that my father would rather ski than breathe. We have spent a lot of time in Park City every year perfecting our turns and discovering what to do off the slopes. After a day of pounding moguls or enjoying the stunning vistas, we really need the perfect meal. After we book our plane tickets, our next task is to make reservations. Everyone in our family has an opinion about where to eat but we do agree on many of these local restaurants.

Spring Rolls & South Western Décor Galore

We have spent many a New Year’s Eve celebrating at Chimayo restaurant on Main Street since it opened in 1996. This upscale location has great food, South Western décor and locals and visitors alike enjoy Chef Arturo Flores’ creations. Try the duck spring rolls, short ribs and expect even the bread to be outstanding.

Pack in the Protein

We love Grub Steak so much we usually eat there twice during a week of skiing. I love the salad bar, fresh hot bread and honey butter. I often get the Tenderloin Filet but the crowd pleaser in our family is the bone in cut of Prime Rib, which is slow roasted for 18 hours and comes as an 8 oz, 12 oz or 28 oz option. Although a steakhouse, the halibut is a choice that I don’t think anyone would ever regret – plus doesn’t the restaurant look so cozy in the winter?

“More Than Just a BBQ”

If you are looking for casual dining on Main Street, tempt yourself with great casual BBQ dining at Bandits, as they say: they are “More than just Barbecue.” Enjoy ribs that are rotisserie smoked, slow roasted and wood grilled. All their meals are premium Midwest meats, which are 100% USDA Choice or higher and all natural chickens. Try the “Unbeatable Sandwich Tri-Tip, Chicken or Pulled Pork. Served on garlic bread with caramelized onions, charred bell peppers, melted cheese with your choice of seasoning.” One word sums this up: Yum! (Don’t forget happy hour – the perfect place to aprés ski)

Pack in the Carbs, Italian Style

I like the wood fire pizza and Italian food at Vinto, which has been around for the last two years. It can be hard to get into this location as it is popular and has won so many awards – I mean just look at those Chicken Parmesan sliders! We generally eat at Cisero’s Ristorante where they take reservations and it is on Main Street. I love the décor and the food. Try the Butternut Squash Ravioli, chicken Parmesan, and bruschetta! You will not be disappointed.

Guacamole AND Skiing? A Dream Come True.

The Redstone area has great restaurants and movie theaters, we have been happy to have more choices in the Park City area. Having grown up with great Mexican food in Los Angeles, I am happy to say that Loco Lizard Cantina has truly tasty fajitas! I can recommend you enjoy all they have to offer including the Loco Lizard club, which has monthly specials and member’s only discounts.

Wherever you choose to dine in Park City, I hope you have a wonderful time. I love to ski at Park City Mountain, Canyons and Deer Valley. There are so many trails and tempting treats to explore in Utah! See you on the slopes.
