Cozy Ohio Hotels with In-Room Jacuzzis for a Steamy Romantic Getaway

I don’t want to make any bold statements, but The Inn at Honey Run might be the most romantic, couple-getaway-friendly location on this list. When my husband and I visited a couple of years back, we felt like they rolled out the red carpet for us as we celebrated our anniversary. We were delighted to find a bottle of wine waiting for us in the room, and loved milling our way about their one-of-a-kind open-air art museum.

As soon as you open the door to your room, you’ll take a deep breath and immediately feel yourself decompressing. These rooms are beautiful – seriously spacious, with huge windows and sweeping views of the rolling hills beyond.

Indulge in the seasonal cuisine at Tarragon Fine Dining and relax on the outdoor patio overlooking the forest. Afterward, spend all night soaking in your own private hot tub with a glass of wine in hand. You’ll leave feeling like a new person.

Sometimes it’s fun to go somewhere far off the beaten path, where you can discover your own treasures. Ohio is smattered with quaint, historical towns with a village green and sleepy, relaxed vibes where you can do just that. Sugarcreek in particular has more than a few gems of its own.

This area is complete with rolling hills, fertile farmland, orchards, and farmer’s markets, and even a local winery to discover. Check out the Alpine Museum, which celebrates the area’s rich Amish history. Be sure not to miss the largest Cuckoo clock on the planet. How could you not delight in the silliness?

My favorite part about the Cambria Hotel in Polaris is that you can decide what kind of day you want when you wake up in the morning. But that’s just what makes this area so amazing — if you want to hobnob in the city all day, go hiking in the woods, or hit up the best local shopping areas, you can do that. Personally, I would choose to hang out by Hoover Lake and then grab some Mellow Mushroom Pizza.

When you’re done exploring the area, you’ll want to grab a cocktail at the hotel bar before soaking your tired bones.

I’ll say this to anyone willing to listen: the waterfront of Ohio is sorely underrated. Ohio boasts miles upon miles of crystalline waters, with dramatic waves that beat the rocky shoreline, endless sandy beaches, and rich industrial history. Only in Ohio will you see coal wash ashore from fabled shipwrecks that went down in a Great Lakes thunderstorm.

While you’re here, make sure to explore as much of the Lake Erie Ohio coast as you can – a great place to start is the South Beach Resort in Marblehead. This is one of few hotels in the area with its own private beach. It also offers a marina with jet ski and paddleboard rentals, and yes, a jacuzzi in certain rooms. Many people come back to South Beach Resort each year, and it’s not hard to see why.

The area around Mount Vernon was settled in the 1700s by people from Massachusetts who loved their quaint little towns, forested hills, and flower gardens. The Mount Vernon Inn lives up to this genteel standard. The Inn itself is in a historic brick home, but you’d never know based on the spacious bathrooms – including in-room hot tubs for ultra relaxation. Well-appointed details, from the gardens to the window-clad dining area where you can enjoy a continental breakfast, will make you feel like you’re in a small town dream.

Take a step out of the Inn and you can explore the historic town around it, with its little shops, restaurants, and art galleries. Just beyond the city limits are numerous parks where you can get your dose of nature: canoe down the Kokosing River, or go marvel at Honey Run Waterfall before coming back to the room to enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub.

This area of Ohio is simply beautiful – with low forest hollows, cool flowing rivers, and hills that look down on sweeping vistas in some of Ohio’s untouched natural lands.

Just steps away from Mohican State Park and Memorial State Forest in Loudonville, Landoll’s Mohican Castle is a well-kept, sprawling estate complete with a day spa, a bar and grill, a sprawling outdoor porch and patio, and even ghost hunts for the paranormal explorers out there.

At the end of a full day of canoeing, ghost hunting, and hiking at Mohican State Park, it feels amazing to return to your spacious suite with heated bathroom floors, your own private jacuzzi, and a fireplace where you can relax and enjoy with a cup of tea.
