Have a Ball with Your Doll

At the Omni Hotel, you’re right in the middle of Magnificent Mile, close to all of the great shopping and city energy that comes with that. It’s a great spot for kids, in close proximity to places like Dylan’s Candy Bar, The LEGO store, and of course, the mega-store American Girl Doll. The hotel itself capitalizes on the American Girl experience that little girls love with the perfect American Girl package.

Little ones can expect a Sugar and Sweet candy display on the night of arrival, milk and cookies at turndown, an Omni doll bathrobe and either an American Girl® PJ set, book and fold-out bed or a Bitty Baby blanket and PJs. Mom and dad will appreciate the free valet parking and a breakfast buffet that comes with. Plus all of the hotel rooms are suites, making it one of the more spacious places in the city for families.

Don’t fret if your kids aren’t into dolls. The Omni loves their “kid crew” and kids immediately feel important upon check-in when they receive a backpack filled with games, activity books, stickers and more. Night one also gets them a delivery of milk and cookies to enjoy.

Little Luxuries

At the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago, it’s hard not to feel like you stepped into the land of luxury, even for kids. The fun for the kiddos starts at check-in where they receive a special step stool to climb up and check themselves in. They’ll then receive a “Sammy the Skyscraper” passport where they can visit different parts of the hotel and earn stamps towards free ice cream. Finally, they get to pick a toy out of the treasure chest.

Head to the 32nd floor to the Kids’ Club room that’s filled with every game they could desire from Nintendo Wii to foosball and air hockey, plus books and toys. For swim time, the indoor pool has plenty of noodles and floaties for them to splash around with. The concierge is at your service as a family, offering VIP tickets to some of the best attractions around the city like the Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum. For kids who really like it luxe, there’s a kid shoe shine complete with new shoelaces and a Four Seasons charm, and kid-sized robes in the spa.

And if you truly want to take it the next level, The Family Fun in the city package includes all of the above plus a visit from the ice cream man one afternoon, a soda and popcorn delivery one of the days, free breakfast and free kids meals at Allium, the hotel restaurant.

A Stress Free Stay

Traveling with babies or really young kids is often especially stressful because these pint-sized people require so much gear. The Kimpton Hotel Palomar in River North hotel wants to ease that stress with their Baby Butler. The butler will be at your service to buy any disposable baby products you need (diapers, formula, and so on) and have them ready in your room. The hotel also has a partnership with a popular baby brand (4moms) so parents have access to things they normally wouldn’t in a hotel like a playpen, changing table, and a swing. They’ll also hook you up with outlet covers and toilet latches to keep the room safe, and a humidifier or sound machine if you need.

Once you have the necessities covered, indulge in a meal at Sable Kitchen. Parents can enjoy a cocktail with their meal and kids have their own menu (plus high chairs and boosters). Finally, take a swim year-round in the heated indoor pool–a luxury in the middle of a Chicago winter, for sure.
