The morning sun was still in the process of turning from pink to orange as I slipped out on the deck of our hotel room with my first cup of coffee for the day. Although I’m not necessarily a morning person, this is my favorite time of the day at Lake of the Ozarks, when the water is smooth as glass, when birds are greeting the day’s arrival and just a few fishing boats troll the coves in search of elusive catch.
I’ve been coming to the Lake of the Ozarks since I was two years old. As a child, my family made annual getaways to the region.
