7 Chillest 420-Friendly Hotels for Traveling Stoners in Denver

The marijuana tourism industry is booming. If you're traveling for some bud, you'll need someplace to stay. Here are some 420-friendly hotels in Denver.

Denver has been at the forefront of providing TLC- and THC-derived products to visitors who might be coming for the ski slopes but are sticking around for some nightly tokes. Once you’re in town, you can join one of the legions of weed tours that dot the Denver area such as 420 Tours or Colorado Cannabis Tours. They organize tours for every kind of stoner including foodies and chefs, gardeners to engineers. They’ll also loan you some pretty state-of-the-art vaporizers for the duration of your visit, plus organize transportation around the city, among other stoner-friendly perks.

For those bringing their own vapes and looking to navigate the green landscape of Denver on their own, we present you the most 420-friendly hotels in Denver. At these hotels, hand-rolled joints supersede mint chocolates resting delectably on your pillow. Keep in mind, smoking in the rooms is still strictly forbidden at most properties so ask before you light up!

Bud and Breakfast at Adagio

1/4

Just because it’s a bud and breakfast doesn’t mean that beds at the Adagio are optional. Housed in a 122-year old Victorian house, lush gardens and sunny rooms welcome stoners seeking a quiet refuge in the city. You’ll enjoy a chef’s breakfast cooked for you every morning plus easy access to top-shelf cannabis and cannabis products from their local partners.

If you book a room, you’ll get a king-sized marshmallow to tuck yourself into, along with a robe, a wake-n-bake cannabis sampler every morning, and views of the garden, where you can smoke (smoking inside is not permitted). Mellow happy hours begin at 4:20 p.m. and you can help yourself to cannabis treats, an open bar, and all the munchies you can stomach.

Vacation Like Royalty

If you’re looking to vacation like royalty, the Patterson Inn was modeled after the chateaus of the Loire Valley in France. A sprawling quarter-acre lot, the mansion is pure old-world elegance with peaked roofs, turrets and a carriage house.

The nine-room boutique B&B has two designated smoker-friendly rooms with private patios that allow for recreational marijuana use. It’s also currently legal to vape in private rooms as long as you don’t disturb other guests (although this may change soon as Denver is trying to limit it with the Clean Air Act).

Owner Chris Chiari fell in love with the property and moved from Florida to develop it with marijuana in mind. As the co-owner of a dispensary, he’s on the forefront of fighting the good fight for social use and believes there’s a healthy debate to be had between consumer rights and responsible use. And with legalization, we can get to that debate faster.

In essence, Colorado is very close to passing a bid to allow public consumption and he believes his event space could become one of the first legal cannabis lounges in the state. With a capacity of 30-40 guests, it would be both open to the public and rentable for private events.

Whether purely by coincidence or not, their address is 420. So really, it’s just fulfilling their destiny.

The Gold Standard for Marijuana Hotels

1/3

The gold standard (or green standard, if you will) for marijuana hotels, NATIV  is by far the most well-known weed-friendly hotel in the city.

The first hotel in the U.S. specifically designed for smokers, half of the hotel’s 16 rooms are equipped with private balconies where you can blaze. While you still can’t toke up in the hotel itself (it’s still against state law and likely a fire hazard), NATIV is about as close to your own personalized drug den as you’ll get. Just ask Justin Bieber and Drake, both rumored to have been past guests.

And if you don’t like the idea of physically smoking, maybe edibles (or drinkables?) are more your speed. The lobby coffee shop sells CBD-infused beverages for a totally new kind of caffeine high. Equipped to curb the munchies, you can also order local microbrews on draft and “pourtions,” small bites conceptualized by Food Network chef Aaron May, right from an iPad in your room. How about that for room service?
