Every year, for two weeks at the end of June, the world’s greatest tennis players converge on a leafy suburb of West London to play in the oldest and most prestigious lawn tennis tournament: Wimbledon. The Pimms flow, 28,000 kg (roughly 62,000 pounds) of strawberries and cream are consumed and celebrities of all manner come to watch from the Royal Box, it’s the epitome of British Summer.[caption id="attachment_27638" align="aligncenter" width="1200"] Wimbledon Tennis Court. The Mohonk Mountain House is a Victorian Castle on the banks of Lake Mohonk in the Hudson Valley. The first courts were built here in 1883 not long after the All England Lawn Tennis Club at Wimbledon was founded in 1868. With an excellent array of programmed tennis, this is the perfect club to experience tennis in a traditional setting.

The Broadmoor | Colorado Springs
Summer in England is a bit like Christmas. It’s mostly cold and there’s a fair amount of build-up but it tends to only last one day. So, in 2009, a retractable roof was installed on the Centre Court at Wimbledon so that play can resume even in the rain! If you’re looking for a tennis center with similar seasonal facilities then look no further than The Broadmoor where two of the courts are covered by an illuminated heated bubble during the winter months.
