Zinc at the Shade Hotel

1/2

Indulge in American contemporary cuisine at the hip Zinc restaurant located at the Shade Hotel. Just a 15-minute drive from LAX and within walking distance to the beach, the Shade Hotel oozes luxury. From its Tempur-Pedic mattresses to its brunches atop the modern sundeck, the Shade Hotel will make you feel like a Hollywood celeb.

The breakfast and lunch menus will delight your senses with plates like the exotic Egg Roll, a scrumptious mixture of Parmesan cheese, spinach, Canadian bacon, and Brie topped off with decadent truffle oil. Opt for a traditional Eggs Benedict dripping with fluffy hollandaise sauce (just the way we like it!) or try the Lobster Benedict with buttery lobster, crisp prosciutto and a sweet croissant.

Eggs & Benny Rating: 7/10 — Love the traditional options with New American cuisine – but be prepared to pay a bit more for this trendy joint.

Brunch is served from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekends.

Omni Hotel Los Angeles at California Plaza

1/2

The modern decor, luxurious conveniences and amazing downtown location aren’t the only perks offered by the Omni Hotel Los Angeles. The Omni also boasts a delectable breakfast menu with all the American classics and then some.

Try the Eggs Benedict with crispy bacon or with fresh salmon both topped off with the creamiest, cage-free eggs in town. Head down to the hotel’s Grand Cafe to try one of the beautiful Benedicts, or opt for a California-style Huevos Rancheros with spicy salsa roja that SoCal does oh so well.

Eggs & Benny Rating: 7.5/10 — The location is hard to beat, and the no-fuss convenience of both the hotel and its cafe are a plus. The Eggs and Benny is delicious and fresh, but slightly on the predictable side.

Breakfast is served from 6-10 a.m. on weekdays and 7-10 a.m. on weekends.

Hotel Bel-Air

1/2

Embrace the Hollywood life at the impeccable Hotel Bel-Air. Along with being a safe-haven for the rich and famous, the Bel-Air is known for its attention to detail, outstanding level of service and gorgeous California canyon surroundings. If you have time to pull yourself away from your in-suite fireplace and private garden terrace, definitely head down to the Wolfgang Puck restaurant.

Sink your teeth into homegrown California produce in the form of their scrumptious signature Eggs Benedict. The H.B.A. Eggs Benedict puts a spin on the classic recipe with a white cheddar biscuit as the base and maple-flavored hollandaise sauce dribbled gracefully atop two perfectly poached eggs. The Sunday brunch is an extravagant affair, with Champagne, hand-crafted Bloody Marys and live entertainment!

The Eggs & Benny Rating: 8.5/10 — With the custom cocktails, the locally-sourced produce, impeccable service, and live entertainment, it will be tough to find a better brunch experience (not to mention maple hollandaise sauce again!). Some points were deducted for the hefty price tag (around $68 for a full brunch + Champagne) and the reservations-needed motto.

Brunch is served Sundays from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.

Mr. C Beverly Hills

1/2

Sundecks, crystal chandeliers and fresh flower arrangements are just some of the details that make up the grandeur of the Mr. C Beverly Hills hotel. European glamour oozes out of every corner of the hotel from the hand-crafted Italian furniture to the bathroom amenities by expert perfumers from the London Limited Edition (Plantation Collection).

Dining at the hotel is unforgettable. The Italian flair and the fresh ingredients will win over even the pickiest of eaters. They have an impressive choice of four different Eggs Benedict to choose from! Opt for a traditional eggs and benny or try it with added speck and basil leaves for a little extra kick. Be sure to come back to try the Fried Eggs on Grilled Polenta – an Italian comfort dish that will fill you up for the rest of the day.

The Eggs & Benny Rating: 9/10 — Top marks for Mr. C for the array of breakfast choices (especially the Benedicts) and the classic American goodies mixed with Italian charm makes for delicious dishes. We also love that you can create your own freshly-squeezed juice and that the menus change daily.

Breakfast is served daily and brunch on Sunday features a live jazz band.

Loews

1/2

Santa Monica is where you’ll experience true Southern California vibes. The Loews hotel is the perfect place to relax — slip into the SoCal laid-back lifestyle in one of their 347 guestrooms, each decorated with ocean tones of sand and light azure so you can wake up on the beach (literally and figuratively). If you opt for one of the poolside cabana rooms, get ready to be wow-ed by your own private sundeck complete with a fire pit for roasting marshmallows or for warmth while you listen to the ocean waves in the evening.

The best of Loews manifests itself at the Hotel’s Ocean & Vine restaurant where organic produce from local farmer’s markets is artfully paired with fresh fish caught right out front. Eat breakfast and stare out at the iconic Santa Monica Pier, bite into a warm, fluffy English muffin covered in crispy Canadian bacon from the classic Eggs Benedict dish. Vegetarians will love the Tomato & Spinach Benedict with juicy homegrown California tomatoes, fresh Spinach, a doughy English muffin, and decadent hollandaise sauce in abundance.

The Eggs & Benny Rating: 9/10 — We couldn’t help ourselves with this beach beauty, the atmosphere is chill, the food is fresh, and the service impeccable. Eggs & Benny give this one two thumbs up!

Breakfast served daily from 11 a.m.

Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites

1/2

Go chic at the Westin Bonaventure in Downtown L.A. The hotel offers cityscape views, a breathtaking architectural design, and sleek decor. Guests can peek out of the over-sized windows from this shiny tower to the sparkling city below. After taking advantage of the head-massaging shower feature, trot down to the lobby level where you’ll find the lovely Lakeview Bistro.

The classic Eggs Benedict graces the menu, but the real treat is the Eggs Benedict with salmon and cooked spinach leaves, served with oven dried tomato and roasted red potato wedges.

The Eggs & Benny Rating: 6.5/10 — The Eggs Benedicts are tasty, but the restaurant atmosphere is lacking in personality (although a lovely setup) and the breakfast buffet is more enticing than the Benedict.

Breakfast served daily from 6 a.m.
